Electroslag remelting (ESR) provides the highest quality of steels which are used in those areas where metal should work at surplus loads or in superexcited environments. It is a powerful tool for decrease in impurity and other defects of an ingot.

In existing electroslag technology remelting it is spent on an alternating current. Experience and an expert show that conducting remelting on a direct current will allow to reduce the expense of the electric power on 10-15 %, however, here there are the problems connected with features of electroslag technology. One of problems is movement of liquid conductors - slag and liquidmetal baths - in space of melting installation that breaks the directed crystallisation of metal in an ingot and worsens quality of metal ЭШП, i.e. brings to nothing the basic advantage of technology ESR.

Theoretical researches under the analysis, an estimation, the nature of the forces operating thus are required, which else name volume electromagnetic forces (VEMF). Studying of the arisen problem by experimental methods very expensively also is labour-consuming. Therefore the mathematical model of electromagnetic processes at ESR has been developed [1], based on systems of the differential equations in private derivatives of a high order, laws of Maksvell and conservation of energy.

Program realisation of this model is carried out by a modular complex "ЭМП" in the environment of Microsoft Office Excel in programming language Visual Basic, intended for calculation of the basic characteristics of an electromagnetic field, including density of volume electromagnetic forces, at electroslag remelting on a direct current.

The received settlement dependences and results of computer modelling of work of furnace ESR allow to offer a way of compensation of negative influence of electromagnetic forces on a slag bath, to stabilise a slag bath concerning an ingot axis, to offer recommendations about definition of optimum parametres electroslag remelting on a direct current.
