Experimental work on the “Kindergarten as a model of an environmental culture” subject in our institution is conducted in a close cooperation with the family. Doing homework from the “Nadezhda” program teach the kindergarteners and their parents to search for the information sources and work with them. Considering the visual-active thinking of the preschool children, in the family research projects we pay special attention to the basic search activities. Parents from the Game Support Centre of our kindergarten participate in “The Duck and the cheerful Sun” project. While playing the game children and their moms learn about the properties of the sand, explore the water. During the “Paper as a research subject” project families of the children from the preschool group worked at home, learning about the paper properties, making models and creative works, preparing different paper collections and trying to make home-made paper from waste paper. As a part of the “Day of the forest 2010” project parents and their children came up with and drew the posters: “Visiting the forest”, “Protect the lake”, “What grows in the forest”, “Who lives in the forest”. Together with the parents of senior and preschool groups, kindergarten teachers lead a workshop for building bird feeders and birdhouses and placed them on the kindergarten territory. Saplings of firs, pines, silverberries and other trees brought by parents from the countryside were planted on the group territories. Parents and their kids worked on the “Trees near us” subject with a great enthusiasm. First they learned what grows around them, made a map of the kindergarten territory, marked the locations of different trees, collected leaves for the herbarium. The Ovsyannikov family presented their project at the 5th MSU Science Festival. By the beginning of the “Journey through the countries of the world” festival parents and their children prepared their albums, collages, video presentations, built the models. On the “Day of the Earth” festival in spring 2011 children from senior and preschool groups together with their parents defended their group projects, such as: “A green oak-tree by the Lukomorye”, “Poplar fluff”, “Tales of the linden”, “Birch, our white friend”, “An old maple”, “A willow branch”. Participating in the family research projects encourages parents to take an active part in the ecological educational space of the kindergarten, find interesting ideas for the modernization of the kindergarten design. Cooperation with the kindergarten specialists helps parents to raise their educational competence, learn some educational tips necessary for the family upbringing, objectively judge their children’s capabilities and cooperate with them as equal partners.
