The report describes the digital library of Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) project supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) and developed by RSL. The following aspects are discussed: the main results; common matters in the Russian and foreign projects and differences between them; the copyright questions, the assurance of the completeness of the data base and possible incentives; the data processing; access to the data base of full texts; the assurance of the subject search; further development of the project. The last version of digital library of ETDs (pilot project) is based on fulltext database of theses and dissertations in PDF and extracts of works in the form of XML files.
