Mathematical Modelling and Optimization of Modes of Fractionation of Doses in Radiation Therapy of Malignant Tumors

The purpose of the research is construction of mathematical model for revealing optimum modes of fractionation of doses for planning radiation therapy of malignant tumors. The linear-square model (LQ-model) and Klepper model were used for calculation of probability of radiation complications in tissues (TCP). Approbation of the model has been carried out on the basis of the systematized clinical data on irradiation of stomach for TCP=5% and 50% and relative volumes of the irradiated body 1/3, 2/3, 1. The model can be used in radiological clinic for determination of tolerant doses and TCP in tissues, as functions of volume of irradiation, single and total dose.
