(accepted) Study of local lore as a field of knowledge makes it possible to show that preservation of cultural environment is as important as that of natural environment. Study of local lore as a kind of activity may become a basis for association of people around definite topics, “neighborliness” with culture and nature. Participation of people of all ages in collecting of local lore is of great importance for patriotic education. Regional studies should occupy an important place in school education program. The local heritage museum created by school pupils of the Kirov school is the only one in the district, and it requires attention and support. |
