We reduced the biophysical problem of nonlinear oscillations of two coupled bases forming the DNA base pairs (AT or GC) to the mechanical problem of oscillations of two non-identical coupled pendulums. In the frameworks of the approach we obtained the solutions of the model dynamical equations and constructed the trajectories of the investigated system in the configuration space and in the phase space
