The increase in the proportion of the older population (65+) is due to the specifics of objective demographic processes and creates challenges for socio-economic development. Active aging implies a variety of choices for the retirement age population, which, if desired, can return to labor market. A study of global and regional trends in demographic aging shows that public policy in this direction should take into account any option based on the characteristics of the age and gender structure and national traditions of the population.
