Individual settlement-graphic works as the effective form of the organization of independent work of students

In the modern higher school one of the basic kinds of practical work of students at studying subject matters, in particular higher mathematics, is performance of individual settlement-graphic works on the basic themes of a rate.

Variants of individual settlement-graphic works stand out to students usually in the beginning of a semester and should be handed over by students in strictly certain term. As an example we shall consider organizational structure of settlement-graphic work on higher mathematics (section ” Linear programming ”).

On linear programming it is possible to include in settlement-graphic works, for example, problems on following themes: 1) the decision of problems of linear programming by a graphic and simplex method; 2) the decision of problems of linear programming by a method of artificial basis; 3) the decision of transport problems a method of potentials; 4) construction network графов and definition of a critical way.

Performing settlement-graphic works, students get skills of drawing up of mathematical models of the diversified problems of economy, seize methods of the decision of problems of linear programming by means of mathematical package Mathcad and modern information technologies Simplex and Excel, study to lead up tasks in view to numerical result and to analyze obtained data.

It is supposed, that students should give not simply works in a ready kind, but also report to the teacher about a course of the done work. For this purpose special procedure - protection of settlement-graphic works should be organized. Are possible both continuous interview under all tasks, and random inspection of depth of understanding of decisions of the separate problems presented by work, and sometimes it is meaningful to lead interview only concerning, the put teacher at check of work. Protection by students of some key problems is very useful for spending at a board, thus students study to act publicly, competently and precisely to formulate the ideas [1].

As a result of performance and protection by students of individual settlement-graphic works the teacher receives full enough information on a course of mastering of a teaching material as a whole, together with about mastering separate themes or questions. Besides performance of settlement-graphic works will allow students to apply actively the knowledge received at lectures, both during training, and in the future independent work.
